OUR STORY

Superior quality and unrelenting work ethic – throughout the latter half of the twentieth century, João Castro built his legacy on these core principles. In 1985, with more than thirty years in exports, João focused his expertise on what he saw to be the future of Portuguese manufacturing: textiles and ceramics. Three decades later, and under the direction of his daughter Maria Castro, Made in Portugal is the recognized label that he envisioned.

Now in its third generation, CASTROPOR has built upon its success in retail supply and is transforming the hotel design market with expansion into furniture, carpeting, lighting and décor.

Standing on her grandfather’s core principles, Joana and her husband Charles Summers bring more than fifteen years of hotel experience to the family business.
